London is the capital of England. It is its political and business centre. The heart of London is the City. It is the oldest part of London. Many people work in the City but very few live there. There are many banks and offices there, too.
You can visit the Tower of London in the City. The Tower of London was a fortress, a palace, a prison and the King's Zoo. Now it is the museum. There are always black ravens in the Tower of London. People keep them and look after them. They believe that London will be rich while ravens live there.
Not far from the Tower of London there is St. Paul's Cathedral. It is one of the greatest English churches. Sir Christopher Wren built it after the Great Fire. It is very nice and beautiful.
The centre of London is Trafalgar Square. In the middle of the Square there is a tall column. It is a monument to Admiral Nelson. Not far from the Square there is the National Gallery. It is one of the best picture galleries in the world.
